... on stickers

I have browsed so many pages for printable stickers but somehow I wasn't fully satisfied with the results... they weren't MINE... Therefore, I decided to make them from scratch.

At first, I bought some A4 label paper and designed my first batch. The only "inconvenient" with that was that I had to cut the stickers one by one and then peel them off: it was quite difficult because the paper I very thin, but the result was somehow ok.

Then, some days ago, while I was shopping at a dollar store, I laid my eyes on those ready-made office labels (the ones not specifically made for printers). They were so cheap that I decided to buy some and start experimenting. These were my results.

1. PATTERNED STICKERS

The first method it’s very simple. All you have to do is to choose a full page image and print it on the label sheet (it’s better a full page pattern). The page is completely printed and the result it’s very random (see the image below).

If the stickers you bought are the same as mine (where the single labels are placed on a shiny sheet), you may have to remove the extra ink that goes on the space between stickers by pressing a tissue paper on the sheet until it gets completely absorbed.

These stickers are great as they are but they do a terrific job as page markers (you just have to put them on the page margin and fold them in half).

2. STICKERS WITH PHRASES OR IMAGES

I found tons of tutorials on how to align labels when printing (here and here some examples). However, I'm a ⃥l⃥a⃥z⃥y⃥ busy girl and so I'll show you my way of doing it.

First, scan the label sheet. Then open the result with a graphic program. I did my stickers with Photoshop, but you could also use a free program like Gimp and even give a try with Microsoft Word). You may have to do some cropping and/or rotation adjustments depending on your scan.

Then, create a new layer and start assembling the stickers with the background scanned image as a reference.

Finally hide the background layer and print your stickers.

Et voilà! Obviously, it takes a little trial & error because not all the labels are created equal... but I think it's worth the shot.
